Phil Rusted
Director
Responsible for quotes, orders, customer liaison and generally getting in people’s way.
Phil has been in the horticultural industry for over 30 years having originally trained at Askham Bryan College, York back in the 90s.
On the few days Phil isn’t at work he is generally found running round the country or spending time with his young kids.

Terri Roberts
Office Hero
Responsible for quotes, buying, orders, quality control and all the things that Phil doesn’t want to do!
Coming into the industry after a lengthy career as a photographer Terri has loved the challenge of a complete career change.
With a recent marriage, 4 kids and 2 dogs it’s a wonder she gets time for anything else, but she loves a challenge, often involving crazy fitness events and getting muddy through the Suffolk countryside.
Karen Symonds
Logistics
Responsible for organising all of our incoming orders and deliveries out. Without her amazing knowledge and ability we would literally be drowning in plants!
Karen is a very keen cyclist, riding all over the UK and beyond. She loves Trig Bagging (if you know, you know) and has become a really key member of the time since joining in November 2023.
Nigel Leighton
Deliveries/Yard Guy
Responsible for delivering, loading and unloading lorries, collating orders for clients, and generally keeping on top of yard stuff.
Nigel – hard to know where to start – you could literally write a book about Nigel! Best leave that one there I think….
Lucy Smith
Stock Controller
Responsible for keeping on top of our stock plants, quality checking and sorting orders.
Lucy is our young, fun-loving breath of fresh air in the yard. Reasonably new to joining Practical Plants she is thriving in her role and bringing a great attitude and enthusiasm to the team.
