Having worked in the horticultural industry for over 30 years, Phil has a wealth of experience and knowledge that he has used to set up and grow Practical Plants.

Phil started off managing grounds maintenance contracts in London and the South, moving to Maidstone Borough Council as a contract manager overseeing multi million pound contracts.  This then led to a position as a general manager of a large tree surgery and grounds maintenance contractor before then developing into an Environmental Manager for the Highways Agency.

As one thing led to another Phil found himself developing specialisms in invasive species and working with European governments and running EU funded research positions at both Bath and Writtle University.

Phil set up Practical Plants following a tenure with one of the large prestigious UK growers and has taken the business through Brexit and the challenges of Covid to the succesful and growing business that it has now become.

Having run her own wedding photography buisiness for 25 years Terri has come to the team to take on the challenge of Brexit and Covid and is thriving in this new environment.

Working closely with DEFRA, APHA and HMRC she has managed the transition through Brexit seamlessly and ensures that all of our operations are in full compliance with all the required and constantly changing legislation and guidance.

Terri has been putting her skills to good use producing some amazing images of gardens that we have worked on closely with our clients.

As part of her career transition she is gaining horticultural qualifications and absolutely loving the challenge of a new industry.  Who would have throught that she would have taken to driving telehandlers and unloading lorries so much?

Rob has joined the team in 2022 from a career in the construction industry supply chain.

A very keen gardener and budding horticulturalist Rob has a passion for plants and infectious enthusiasm.

Developing excellent client relationships Rob will help and assist and go the extra mile for all of our clients.

He checks and manages the stock coming through the business as well as looking after the stock that is held for longer periods.

Often spotted delivering plants throughout the UK in our lorry - always with a smile.
